On the 3rd June 2010, the Barbican launched its most ambitious summer programme yet at the Village Underground in Shoreditch, East London. The event was attended by an array of artistic talent and East London partners as well as celebrity guests including: Tara FitzGerald, Stephen Poliakff, Andrea Riseborough, Bishi, Mat Horne, Amy Molyneaux, Guy Henry, Orlando Weeks, Olivia Grant, Olivia Hallinan, Jameela Jamil, Speech Debelle, Tom Burke and Tom Hooper.
Guests enjoyed an evening of exclusive and vibrant previews from the Barbican’s summer season. '101 things to do this Summer' brings a heady mix of world-class and international acts to the Barbican Centre along with open-air concerts and events with partner venues and spaces in East London - including the Hackney Empire, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Paradise Gardens in Victoria Park to Wilton’s Music Hall and Shoreditch Park - amongst many others.
The eclectic '101 things to do this Summer' celebrates the Barbican’s east-facing summer programme. From the ground-breaking exhibition 'The Surreal House' to contemporary music festival 'Blaze', free outdoor events, cutting edge theatre and dance and special film seasons.
