A trailer for The Purge: Anarchy, a follow up to the 2013 hit The Purge, has been released:


Camp Bestival (July 31-August 3) has announced its first set of acts including two of its three headline performers: James and Basement Jaxx.

U2 will perform at the 86th Academy Awards on March 2. They will play their track Ordinary Love from the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

 

Maggie Gyllenhaal has joined the cast of Broadway’s The Real Thing, opposite Ewan McGregor.

The Voice UK has been given a BBC Two spinoff series presented by Zoe Ball. The half-hour show will air live from 6.30pm on weekdays starting from the first live final.

 

Clean Bandit have kept the number 1 spot on the UK chart for a third week with Rather Be. Meanwhile, Bombay Bicycle Club went to number 1 for the first time with their album So Long, See You Tomorrow.

 

The Voice UK topped Saturday night’s ratings again with 8.44 million viewers. Tom Daley’s Splash! pulled in 2.61 million during the same time slot.

 

Ellie Goulding and DJ Fresh are working on a new version of their track Flashlight for release.

 

Director Joe Wright has announced an open casting call for the lead role in Pan - his upcoming retelling of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan, already starring Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard. Auditions take place at Wembley Arena in London on February 23 where boys aged 11-13 of all ethnicities and shorter than 5ft 4in are welcome.

Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York apartment yesterday (Feb 2), age 46, of a suspected drug overdose. Hoffman was currently filming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, although it is reported the movie will not be affected by his death.
