The cast of Disney and JJ Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII has been announced with the lead roles being taken on by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow. Original stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker are also confirmed to appear.


Fearne Cotton’s Fearne and McBusted documentary will air on May 21 and 22 on ITV2. The programme sees Fearne spend time with the supergroup and their families, as well as behind the scenes access to their concerts.

Bill Nighy and Toby Jones are to star in a new feature film for BBC’s comedy Dad’s Army. Jones will play Captain Mainwaring, originally played by Arthur Lowe, whilst Nighy will play Sergeant Wilson, originally played by John Le Mesurier.

Peter Jackson’s final movie in The Hobbit trilogy, previously called There and Back Again, has been changed to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.


Amanda Seyfried is to reunite on the big screen with Hugh Jackman in Warner Studios live-action adaptation of Peter Pan. Seyfried has been cast as Mary, alongside Jackman who is playing Blackbeard.


Father Ted actress Pauline Mclynn has been cast in EastEnders as newcomer Yvonne Cotton, mother of Dot Branning;s grandson Charlie.


The Libertines are reuniting for a show at London’s Hyde Park on July 5.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has returned to the top of the UK box office, earning £1.78 million on its third weekend since its release, bringing its total UK earnings to £14.6 million.


Leonardo DiCaprio is to star in new revenge thriller titled The Revenant, based on Michael Punke’s novel about a 19th century fur trapper who is left for dead by cohorts who rob him after being mauled by a bear, then sets out on a journey for revenge.


Ed Sheeran, Birdy, Tom Odell, Jake Bugg and Kodaline all feature on the soundtrack for The Fault In Our stars, which is released on May 19.


The Magic Mike sequel Magic Mike XXL has confirmed a release date of July 4 2015.


Snoop Dogg will narrate an upcoming Call of Duty Ghosts add-on pack, which will be available for £1.99.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has debuted at number one at the US box office with an estimated $96.2 million on its opening weekend.


The Voice UK final topped ratings on Saturday night as 6.6 million viewers tuned in to see Will.I.Am’s Jermain Jackman win the show.
