Elling

This West End play is guaranteed to have you roaring with laughter. It's stupid and tender but very, very funny.

In short, Simon Bent's adaptation of the 2001 Norwegian film, directed by Paul Miller revolves around Elling (John Simm) and Kjell Bjarne (Adrian Bower) - a pair of misfits who leave the safety of an asylum to start independent life. But in order to survive in the real world they must convince their social worker Frank (Keir Charles) that they are 'normal'.

Of course, there are many mishaps along the way. They don't like answering the phone or venturing into the real world. Over time not only do they change but they survive by becoming as messed up as the rest of us.

Life on Mars and Dr Who star Simm wonderfully portrays agoraphobic 'mummy's boy' Elling. Bower is as convincing as the sex-obsessed virgin who finally finds love.

This outstanding duo are helped by a splendid cast including Jonathan Cecil and Ingrid Lacey.

Book tickets whilst they are still available.
