Ana de La Reguera and Molotov Hosted the star-studded Award Ceremony, which included a Piñata stunt by Jackass boys Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius and presentations by Reik, Alex Ubago, Camila Sodi, Imanol Landeta, Sizu Yantra, Fall Out Boy, Kudai, Axel and Argentine TV/Radio Host Roberto Pettinato

MTV Latin America celebrated its fifth annual “Premios MTV Latin America” in style, and Panda topped the award winners list with three awards, including “Best Group or Duo,” “Best Alternative Artist” and “Breakthrough Artist.” Mana took home two awards, including “Best Rock Artist” and “Best Video,” and was also honored with the “Legend Award.” This edition of the award show broke records with 17 winners out of 20 categories, and surprises included collaborations between Nelly Furtado and Calle 13, and Julieta Venegas and Daddy Yankee featuring Kinky.

The star-studded ceremony opened with Colombian superstar Shakira singing her song “No,” and continued with an incredible line-up of electrifying performances, including Robbie Williams singing “Rudebox” and “Rock DJ,” Evanescence playing “Call Me When You’re Sober” and “Bring Me To Life,” and Mana doing “Labios Compartidos.” Additional performances included top-winner Panda, Miranda!, Belinda, Allison and Belanova. The gala was irreverently hosted by Ana de La Reguera and Molotov and presenters included Reik, Alex Ubago, Camila Sodi, Imanol Landeta, Sizu Yantra, Fall Out Boy, Kudai, Axel, Argentine TV/Radio Host Roberto Pettinato, Diego Luna, Benjamin Vicuña, Carolina “Pampita” Ardohain, and Manolo Cardona. Jackass stars Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius drove the crowd wild with a stunt featuring a human piñata and Mexican wrestler Blue Demon Jr.

“Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica” reflect the music and attitude of youth in Latin America today, and the show brings together a variety of regional Latin American pop and rock artists and international acts -- making it a truly unique music experience.  The ‘Premios’ ceremony aired on MTV Latin America and MTVRevolution.com to more than 24 countries in the region, and MTV2, MTV Tr3s and MTV Puerto Rico in the US, and it will be seen on the MTV channels in the US, Spain, Denmark, European (Emerging Markets), Japan, Russia, Brazil and Canada, reaching a total 195 million households.

Charlie Singer, Executive Vice President of Creative Strategy, MTV Networks Latin America served as Producer and Executive Producer for “Los Premios MTV Latin America 2006,” and Manny Rodriguez (“Alejandro Sanz MTV Unplugged,” “La Ley MTV Unplugged,” “Diego Torres MTV Unplugged” and “Ricky Martin MTV Unplugged”) directed it. Josh Greenberg, Senior Vice President, Programming and Creative Strategy, MTV Latin America, co-produced the show and Jose Tillan, Senior Vice President of Music and Talent Strategies for MTVN Latin America and MTV Tr3s, both co-produced and supervised the musical content.
