The National Television Awards, now in its 14th year, was broadcast LIVE on ITV 1 on Wednesday 29th October from London’s Royal Albert Hall and was hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald.
BBC1’s Doctor Who scooped most popular drama. David Tennant, won an outstanding drama performance gong for his role as the Time Lord, then announced he was quitting.
X Factor judge Simon Cowell won a special recognition award and joked that he was gutted to lose out to Strictly.
