PAMELA ANDERSON HOSTS PETA’S HUMANITARIAN AWARDS AT STELLA MCCARTNEY
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) will hold its first-ever Humanitarian Awards in Britain. Pamela Anderson will host the intimate evening at Stella McCartney’s Mayfair boutique, honoring high-profile campaigners including Gillian Anderson for exposing cruelty to animals in laboratories and zoos, Chrissie Hynde for pressuring fast food and clothing companies to upgrade their humane standards, Stella McCartney for her dedication to animal friendly fashion, Mary McCartney for photographing PETA’s ad campaigns, Sir Roger Moore for exposing the cruelty to animals in foie gras production, Cosmopolitan for its ‘Smart Girls Fake It’ fur-free policy, and Topshop for its ‘All Our Fur Is Fake’ policy.
PETA recently convinced Ralph Lauren to drop fur and is pressuring Buckingham Palace to replace the Queen’s guards’ black bear hats with fake fur (for more info visit www.PETA.org.uk).
