KEANE, THE KILLERS AND P DIDDY TO PERFORM AT THE MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS COPENHAGEN 2006

Casino Royale Stars Daniel Craig & Mads Mikkelsen, Moby, Sugababes, Cassie, Mister Lordi and Jackass Number Two’s Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine confirmed as presenters

MTV Networks International announced three more exclusive live acts to join the already stunning line up at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2006 in Copenhagen on 2 November, which will air live from 8pm on MTV UK & Ireland . The most anticipated and talked about event in the entertainment calendar will see Keane, The Killers and P Diddy join the likes of Muse and Nelly Furtado for a night of thrilling live music hosted by Justin Timberlake who also performs. Daniel Craig, who stars as James Bond in Casino Royale, the latest film in the 007 series, will be in Copenhagen, presenting an award alongside Denmark's own Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the Bond villain, Le Chifre in the blockbuster movie due for worldwide release later this month. And to add even more celeb sparkle to the evening, techno pioneer Moby, British pop trio Sugababes, R&B sensation Cassie, Finnish heavymetaler Mister Lordi and Jackass Number Two’s star Johnny Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine are confirmed as award presenters.

Since they exploded onto the music scene in 2003, Keane have grown with breathtaking speed to become one of the biggest live acts in the rock world. The 5 million selling debut album Hopes And Fears became the second biggest selling album in the UK in 2003. Their highly acclaimed second album, Under the Iron Sea, went straight in to the top of the UK and European Charts in June, also impressively entering the U.S Billboard Charts at Number 4. They will be embarking on their UK and European tour later this month.  Their performance in the city’s famed Rådhuspladsen Town Square will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the show. Keane will release “Nothing In Your Way” on 30th October, through Island Records.

The Killers took the world by storm when they left their native Las Vegas and released the critically acclaimed debut album, Hot Fuss, two years ago. With massive singles like “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside”, The Killers became the darlings of the music press and rock fans around the world.  Their recent studio effort, Sam’s Town, sees the band embracing a fuller, more mature sound.  Having performed at Glastonbury in 2005 and rocked the Live8 stage in London, they've got more than enough experience to ensure they “raise the roof” in Copenhagen's huge town square.

P Diddy needs little introduction. During his illustrious career he has released four multi-platinum albums and produced a whole host of esteemed and varied artists, ranging from Aretha Franklin to Sting to Janet Jackson. The world-famous hip-hop legend is due to release a new album entitled Press Play on Oct 17, with collaborations from a myriad of top talent including Nas, Nicole, Timbaland, Mary J. Blige, Cee Lo, Big Boi, Christina Aguilera and many more. No stranger to the EMA stage, P Diddy hosted the award show in 2002, and as one of the most stylish men in music he is sure to bring a bit of trademark bling to his performance in Copenhagen.
