O2 SILVER CLEF AWARDS 2009

The annual star-studded O2 Silver Clef Luncheon brought  the crème de la crème of the music world together to celebrate the prestigious awards ceremony at the Hilton, Park Lane. The infamous awards, held in aid of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy took place on 3rd July 2009 and was hosted by Denise Van Outen with guests including the music industry’s high fliers, artists, celebrities and supporters of the charity.
 

Songwriter, singer and founder of the hugely influential Beach Boys, Brian Wilson made a special appearance to pick up the ‘Best International Act’ award, while UK band Take That scooped the coveted ‘O2 Silver Clef Award’.  Recent chart high flier and ‘In for the kill’ singer La Roux was also there to pick the ‘Best Newcomer’ gong, while Britain’s Got Talent protégé, Faryl Smith, earned the ‘Classical Award’.
 

One of the most successful UK rock bands of the past 15 years Stereophonics celebrated yet another award for the Welsh wonders trophy cabinet by winning ‘British Band Of 2009’. In a year that has seen them explode into the charts, topping them for three weeks, and become the internet sensation of the year (over 4 million views of ‘Ouch’ alone) N-Dubz picked up ‘The Digital Award’

Elsewhere, Madness put on their baggy trousers as they scooped the ‘Icon Award’ for their musical achievements that have spanned over 30 years. 

UK rock royalty Queen were awarded the prestigious ‘Ambassadors of Rock’ award which celebrates four decades of innovative and ground breaking music with Brian May and Roger Taylor who attended to accept their accolade.
