Ocean Sky Cocktail – the world’s most expensive cocktail – was launched Tuesday, October 9th 2007
Ocean Sky The Private Jet Company, a British owned private jet charter company with its headquarters in London, has partnered with InterContinental London Park Lane to create and launch the world’s most expensive cocktail, titled ‘The Ocean Sky Cocktail’. The cocktail will sell at an astonishing £30,000 for two people.
Joel Lawrence, the InterContinental’s bar manager and head mixologist, has created the Ocean Sky Cocktail. Joel learnt his craft working in some of America’s luxury boutique hotels in New York, Los Angeles and the Raleigh Hotel, Miami Beach. Joel has spent some weeks on the creation of the Ocean Sky Cocktail. The ingredients include Kauffman Private Collection Vodka, Chambord and Dom Perignon Champagne plus other what Joel calls “secret ingredients”.
Joel says “I have had various test runs and I can safely say, I had no problems in getting guinea pigs to try out the cocktail. I now believe I have created one of the best cocktails available in any hotel or bar around the world.”
The cocktail will only be available exclusively at the cocktail bar of the InterContinental, London, Park Lane, ordered in advance and mixed by Joel himself.

There is a free gift that comes with the cocktail, which will soften the blow of the £30,000 price tag. The buyer and one other person will be collected from anywhere in the UK in a chauffeur driven Maybach, and taken to a nearest suitable airport where an Ocean Sky Bombardier Challenger 604 will fly the passengers to Rome. In Rome they will be taken by a chauffeur driven car to the InterContinental Hotel for a two-night stay in a luxury suite. After their stay, they will fly back on the same aircraft and returned in a chauffeur driven Maybach to their home(s).
A spokesman for Ocean Sky says “ When we decided to create the most expensive cocktail in partnership with InterContinental London Park Lane, we thought that at the £30,000 asking price we should include a stunning gift. As part of it we chose one of the top private jets from our fleet, a Challenger 604. The aircraft normally carries 9 people in ultimate luxury. The cocktail buyers will have this sensational wide bodied jet for themselves with their own personal flight attendant and two pilots.”
The Ocean Sky cocktail was launched at a glamorous party on Tuesday, October 9th 2007, at InterContinental, London, Park Lane, London W1.
Attendees included Angela Rippon, The Earl of Bradford, Royal wedding dress designer Lindka Cierach, celebrity stylist Hannah Sandling, electric violinist Linzi Stoppard, Assia Webster, wife of jewellery designer Stephen Webster, West End producer and choreographer Adam Cooper, designer Ozwald Boateng and actor Michael Obiora who plays Ben Trueman in hit BBC television series 'Hotel Babylon'.
Guests sampled Joel Lawrence’s oocktail creation and sumptuous chocolate provided by Lindt at a Las vegas style party with entertainment by Sinatra tribute artist Phil Fryer at a Las Vegas style party.
