On February 2nd, women on Oxford Street were in for a treat when a visitor arrived at the Regent Street branch of H&M. Football idol and sex symbol David Beckham was in the high street store to unveil his new range of underwear ‘David Beckham Bodywear’.
The LA Galaxy midfielder has followed in his wife’s footsteps and ventured into the world of fashion design that holds “quality and longevity at its core”.
Beckham decided to create his own range at the start of this new and long relationship with the store, following the success of his modelling campaign for Armani underwear.
There is a choice of nine styles all focussing on fit, function, comfort and design including briefs, boxers, vests, T-shirts, pyjamas and long johns in 1,800 H&M stores.
Stars such as Jessica Ennis, James Corden, Dermot O’Leary, Rizzle Kicks, Emma Bunton, Bobby Gillespie and Tana Ramsay joined the former England captain at Millbank at a party to celebrate a successful launch.
Life sized bronzed statues of Beckham – nicknamed Goldenballs - have been erected in the flagship store for all shoppers to enjoy.
