2005 was a year that started with the release of Rooster’s self-titled debut album, a year that saw them take up a residency in the singles’ chart, clock up 150 gigs – sharing stages with the likes of the Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand and New Order amongst others – and then culminate with the band heading out to Los Angeles to record their new album – ‘Circles And Satellites’ with producer Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Faith No More) at the helm.  As vocalist Nick Atkinson says, “It was a pretty steep learning curve!”

The band will now be releasing the first single from their new album 'Circles & Satellites' on 10th July.  Entitled “Home” will be available as a two track CD on the Brightside label, as well as a digital download.  'Circles & Satellites' will be released on the 24th July 06, the band are currently putting together UK tour dates, which will be announced soon.

On July 24th 06 Rooster will be releasing their 2nd album on the Brightside label.  Entitled “Circles and Satellites” it was produced by uber-producer Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Maroon 5) in Los Angeles.

The band released their self titled debut album in early 2005 (current sales standing at  ½ Million) and spent most of that year touring – clocking up 150 shows – sharing stages with the likes of the Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand and Robert Plant amongst others. It’s onstage that Rooster are at their most comfortable, and those shows were the highlight of their year.

So much touring has meant the bond between the band members has grown exponentially. “Playing music with each other is second nature now,” says vocalist Nick Atkinson. “If something in the music changes – as it does each night – we can adapt to it so easily because we all know what we’re doing so much more. Everything feels very natural.”

Work on ‘Circles And Satellites’ began at the end of 2005, after relocating to Los Angeles to the legendary Sound City Studios, whose previous occupants include Nirvana, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Crowes. The band were ecstatic to be working with producer Matt Wallace, a man they can’t stop raving about. “He’s done everyone from Faith No More to Maroon 5,” says guitarist Luke Potashnick “He had such a huge influence on us, he’s a killer producer. He was at the top of our wish list.

“We’ve got to the point where people are ready to listen to Rooster with open ears,” says Nick. “That’s all we’re asking for – to be judged on our merits, to be on a level playing field.” Then, with a smile, he adds: “And I know that this album’s better than the last one, that we’re better musicians and that we’ve got better songs. We’ve given ourselves every possible chance.”
