Following on from the huge success of series 1 and 2, the critically-acclaimed and BAFTA award-winning Green Wing returns for a one-off feature-length finale episode.  Available to buy on DVD from Monday 8th January 2007, the DVD features the 90 minute special plus exclusive unseen extras including deleted scenes, an alternative ending plus a behind-the-scenes featurette and a cast and crew audio commentary.

This genre-defying comedy proves medical issues needn't have any relevance in a hospital setting. As the mayhem and madness continues, how will it all end for our favourite dysfunctional medics?

The end is nigh – Caroline (Tamsin Greig) is now engaged to Guy (Stephen Mangan), while Mac (Julian Rhind-Tutt) has very little time to live. Gripped by desperation and paranoia, dwarf-killing duo Statham (Mark Heap) and Joanna (Pippa Haywood) are on the run, jumping relentlessly out of frying pans and into fires (not quite literally). With no-one left in charge, the admin girls let their basic instincts run wild, while something very strange has happened to Karen (Lucinda Raikes) after her fall from the window. Boyce (Oli Chris) discovers life without Statham, Sue White (Michelle Gomez) spots a job opportunity and Martin (Karl Theobald) feels utterly helpless. Again. Still, at least it all ends happily ever after. Or does it?

The same ensemble cast are in place for more brilliantly observed, sophisticated mayhem. Tamsin Greig is the idiosyncratic Dr. Caroline Todd; Julian Rhind-Tutt, the fop-haired, wise-cracking heartthrob Dr MaCartney; Stephen Mangan the lustful love god Guy Secretan; Mark Heap as the stammering, neurotic Statham; Pippa Haywood the tyrannical, age-obsessed Joanna Clore; Michelle Gomez the terrifyingly unpredictable staff liaison officer Sue White; Karl Theobald the endearing failure Martin Dear; the bumbling Harriet, Olivia Colman and Oliver Chris, Dr Statham’s nemesis student, Boyce.

Green Wing is a talkbackTHAMES production, devised and produced by Victoria Pile.  The series boasts a collection of award-winning writers including Victoria Pile, Robert Harley (Smack the Pony, Los Dos Bros), Oriane Messina and Fay Rusling (Smack the Pony, The Bearded Ladies), Richard Preddy (The Fast Show, Shooting Stars), James Henry (Smack the Pony,) and Stuart Kenworthy (Smack the Pony, Harry Hill's TV Burp).
