Joanna graduated from the prestigious Mountview stage school (previous students have included Nick Moran and Amanda Holden) and immediately landed a lead role in the National Youth Theatre’s acclaimed production 'Immaculate Conceit'.
Parts in Holby City and No Angels followed and then Joanna was delighted to be part of the collective of actors taking part in the 24 hour plays at The Old Vic. The group are called ‘Old Vic new voices’ and were selected by Kevin Spacey because he believed them to be the best new actresses around. Kevin is always on hand to give advice and guidance and so began Joanna’s love for the Theatre.
She recently toured India performing Shakespeare plays in royal palaces and open-air venues to a sell-out crowd.
Joanna is a talented musician, playing piano and singing (her brother is a professional Jazz drummer). She is 24, originally from Yorkshire and now lives in Shoreditch with friends.
She is a huge campaigner for the British Film Industry and is inspired by home grown talent such as Julie Walters, Brenda Blethyn and Daniel Craig.
Joanna is interested in Yoga, Travel, Conservation and Extreme Sports.
