Amy Macdonald was one of the success stories of 2007 and her reign at the top doesn’t look like it will end anytime soon. Macdonald is the biggest selling British female artist to emerge in the last year and the 20 year-old started 2008 with her debut album This Is The Life back in the top ten. A week on, she beat Radiohead and Take That to the # 1 spot and is fast approaching half a million sales.
Macdonald is set to continue her series of triumphs with the release of her fourth single, Run, on Vertigo on 18th February, and her biggest headline tour to date which kicks off in Newcastle on 7th February. Run, sung in Macdonald’s rich gutsy vocal and with its soaring infectious chorus, is currently all over the UK airwaves and is Macdonald’s fourth A-List record at Radio 2.
Amy Macdonald has spent the past 18 months, since signing to Vertigo, touring the UK and Europe and has had some phenomenal experiences. She’s toured Europe with Paul Weller, met her one time hero Pete Doherty, headlined her favourite music venue (Glasgow Barrowlands) and wowed the masses at T in the Park.
