The Stands
The Stands are a four-piece rock ‘n‘ roll band hailing from Liverpool, England. They are Howie Payne - Lead Vocals & Guitar, Luke Thomson - Guitar, Dean Ravera- Bass, Steve Pilgrim - Drums. They release their debut album ‘All Years Leaving‘ on the 23rd February 2004.
Formed eighteen months ago when Howie Payne founding member of The Stands, began to feel a little lonely as a one-man band. He set about the streets of his hometown, in search of a few like-minded souls, stumbling across the others through chance meetings on football fields and at acoustic gigs. Thus, The Stands came into being, creating songs welded from sounds as diverse as Hank Williams, The Grateful Dead, and Miles Davis. They are resplendently infectious, an enchanting concoction of rambling guitars and West Coast harmonies.
