Laura Keegan
Not a footballers wife (but definitely a footballers daughter)
Laura was born in Hamburg, Germany and lived there until she was 18 months old. she used to go to the matches with mum to watch her dad Kevin Keegan who was European Footballer Of The Year at the time play football with a huge bag of raw vegetables because she wasn‘t introduced to sweets until she started school.
Laura considers herself to be multi cultural, born in Germany, moved all around Britain and lived in Spain for 6 years. Not bad for a 24 year old. The family moved to Spain when dad decided to retire from playing football when he was just 34 years of age. Laura and her Sister were a mere 3 and 6 years old but still talk to this day about it being the best years of their lives. Swimming, playing tennis, horse riding and hours walking in the sierras with their parents on weekends. Laura loved to picnic with the dogs and they would drive right up into the hills and walk for miles.
Nanna and granddad joined the family in Spain for the last few years so they could spend some quality time with their grand children. It was one big happy family. Then the call back to England for dad, he was to join Newcastle as the new Manager. The family were sad to leave Spain, the sun and the friendships and the life. The new life in Newcastle was so very different to Spain. No more sunshine, new friends to make and to actually go to a match and really know what all the fuss was about. Laura got so addicted to the game and told dad she wanted to be the next female football manager.
The music aspect of Laura‘s life has always been there as dancing was her main focus in Spain. Laura spent 5 years studying tap dancing, ballet, jazz and flamenco first at school plays and then in theatre, she even danced at hotel functions.
Unfortunately when Laura returned to England at 12 years of age something else took over her thoughts, no it wasn‘t boyfriends but horses. Dad had told his girls that they could have a pony each if they worked for two years with some sanctuary ponies. So they mucked them out, picked the fields, and groomed them till they had blisters. Now Laura has her own horse and her dad is a keen breeder of mares.
Laura‘s music career is about to take off. She has signed for London Production Company Hamworth Music and her first single All I Do is set for release. Laura is sharpening up her act working with the vocal and performance coach from TV phenomenon Pop Idol and the single shows just how much influence Spain has had on Laura as the track, which is a sort of "Kylie with an edge" dance track has a definite flamenco feel.
