Fresh off the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: the Stranger Tides 24 year-old actor, Sam Claflin, is England’s newest rising star. Making his big screen debut in the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean, the largest international opening of all time, Claflin has made it apparent that both the UK and Hollywood must make room for this up and coming heartthrob. Claflin has also been cast to play Kristen Stewart’s leading man in Rupert Sander’s adaptation of the forthcoming Snow White which also stars Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. In 2013, Claflin is also set to play Tom in The Seventh Son, a wizard fantasy starring Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore.
Already cast alongside award winning actors, Claflin was noticed just last year in his roles as Richard in Showtime’s miniseries The Pillars of the Earth and Logan Mountstuart in Channel 4’s Any Human Heart (winner: 2011 Bafta Awards Best Drama Serial). Claflin also starred in two television movies The Lost Future and United all within the last year.
With his career taking off, Clafin will be seen in a range of roles from a strong willed sci-fi hero in The Lost Future to a missionary who falls in love with a mermaid in Pirates of the Caribbean. Sam Clafin is definitely a face to watch.
