R&B and Soul recording artist and songwriter,
Emeli Sandé, first caught our attention when she featured on Chipmunk's single, ‘Diamond Rings’ in 2009. Her contribution to that top ten UK single was just a taster of what she could offer to the music industry.
In 2010, she signed a publishing deal with EMI Music Publishing and later announced that Virgin Records had given her a record deal. Since then she has written for a number of high profile British artists, including
Tinie Tempah,
Leona Lewis,
Cheryl Cole,
Alesha Dixon,
Chipmunk, Cher Lloyd and
Susan Boyle.
Sandé released her first solo single 'Heaven' in August 2011 which went straight in at number two in the UK singles chart. She is now in high demand, she appears as a guest artist on
Professor Green's number 1 single 'Read All About It' and has been writing tracks with
Alicia Keys. Her achievements have not gone unnoticed, she was one of three shortlisted for Q Magazine’s Next Big Thing award and even
Simon Cowell has reportedly called her his favourite songwriter at the moment.
Emeli Sandé's second single 'Daddy' will be released on 20th November and her long awaited debut album 'Our Version of Events' is set to be released on 30th January 2012. We have high hopes for her continued success!
