'Hang Up' is released on 27 March 2006
Andy Abraham, the much loved and hugely talented X Factor runner up, is releasing his debut album, 'The Impossible Dream', through Sony BMG on 20 March 2006. With a great collection of favourites from the show as well as some stand out brand new tracks, 'The Impossible Dream' is the album that will cement Andy’s status as one of the most exciting new talents in the UK.
In a true rags to riches story, Andy was working as a dustbin man when he – or rather his wife Denise – applied for a certain TV show… “My wife forged my signature on the application form for 'The X Factor' because I was unsure about doing it initially, but obviously I’m really pleased she did it now! Even if I hadn’t done X Factor I would still have pursued music, but it has opened so many doors for me. It’s been incredible.”
The fourteen-track album is filled with new studio versions of his best songs from the X Factor, including a breathtaking rendition of 'Me and Mrs Jones', a true highlight of the whole series. Six original tracks cover everything from contemporary funk - the highly infectious 'Sticky Situation' - through mid-tempo instant classics - 'If You Ever Go Away' and 'No One Could Love You Half As Much As Me' - to the epic ballad, 'Where Would I Be?', as well as taking an upbeat turn with the brand new songs, 'All Around The World', a massive disco floor filler and 'Hang Up', a pure pop home run which will be Andy’s first single from the album, released 27 March.
'The Impossible Dream' contains Andy’s velvety smooth renditions of the soul classics 'When A Man Loves A Woman', 'Greatest Love Of All' and 'Can’t Take My Eyes Off You'; plus the legendary Nat King Cole classics, 'Unforgettable' and 'When I Fall In Love'; Stevie Wonder’s 'Lately' and an incredibly poignant rendition of the album title track.
Andy Abraham’s passion for all types of music is reflected on this eclectic album, weaved together by his rich vocal style which adapts skilfully to many different genres. ‘The Impossible Dream’ will appeal not only to Andy’s post X Factor following but to a whole new array of pop, soul and R’n’B devotees.
