'Ghost Whisperer' - Tuesdays at 9pm on E4

E4 has acquired exclusive first-run broadcast rights in the UK to launch new US drama Ghost Whisperer, it was jointly announced by Jeff Ford, Director of Acquisitions, Channel 4 and Philippe Maigret, senior vice president, Sales & Portfolio Development, Buena Vista International Television EMEA. The show will then be broadcast on abc1.
'Ghost Whisperer' stars Jennifer Love Hewitt (I Know What You Did Last Summer) as Melinda Gordon, a young woman who can talk to dead people – earth-bound spirits who have yet to cross over to the other side and who seek her help in communicating and resolving unfinished business with the living. Inspired in part by the work of famed medium James Van Praagh and Mary Ann Winkowski, a real-life communicator to spirits, 'Ghost Whisperer' explores the spiritual side of life and death as Melinda navigates among the dead and the living in her attempts to act as an intermediary between the ghosts and those they haunt. Ghost Whisperer also stars Aisha Tyler (24) and David Conrad (Wedding Crashers). In the US, Ghost Whisperer launched on CBS in September 2005, where it has been a #1 ranked show in its timeslot.
The series will launch in 2006 on E4, and abc1 , the entertainment channel launched by Disney in 2004, will broadcast the series in January 2007. This agreement was concluded by Jeff Ford and Catherine Powell, BVITV’s executive director, Sales, UK & Ireland.

'Ghost Whisperer' is a Touchstone Television production, executive produced by John Wirth (Nash Bridges), John Gray, Kim Moses and Ian Sander (Profiler). James Van Praagh is co-executive producer.
