J RECORDS DEBUT, 'UNPREDICTABLE', SET FOR APRIL RELEASE

Academy Award-winning actor and multi-Grammy Award-nominated singer and songwriter Jamie Foxx will release his J Records debut album 'UNPREDICTABLE' on APRIL 24th 2006. Following the release of ‘UNPREDICTABLE’ in the US, Foxx has stormed to the top of the billboard charts selling more than a million copies.  Spawned by the album title hit single, featuring Ludacris, which will be released on the 10th of April, 'UNPREDICTABLE' has quickly become one of the most anticipated album releases this year.

Foxx recently received a Grammy nomination in the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance category for his performance of “Creepin’” from the J Records’ release 'So Amazing: An All-Star Tribute to Luther Vandross'.  Foxx is also still riding high on pop, R&B, and rap charts as Kanye West’s guest on his hit single “Gold Digger,” which won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance and was nominated for Record of the Year.  Last year, Foxx received a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, for crooning on “Slow Jamz” by Twista featuring Kanye West (a track from Twista’s Kamikaze album).

The recognition that Foxx has earned from his peers in R&B and hip-hop reinforces his dedication to music.  Foxx, who has always regarded himself as a singer and musician first, and actor second, re-ignites his first passion with 'UNPREDICTABLE', described as “the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.”  In addition to Ludacris, the album also features guest appearances by Mary J. Blige (“Love Changes”), Kanye West (“Extravaganza”), The Game & Snoop Dogg (“Be With You”), Twista (“DJ Play a Love Song”) and Common (“U Still Got It” Interlude).  Mike City, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Timbaland and Foxx add their production skills to the album.

A classically trained pianist who was raised in the church, Foxx studied at San Diego Performing Arts College before moving into comedy on television and in film.  His Oscar-winning performance in 'Ray' was a major indication that Foxx’s musical aspirations could not be held back and the release of ‘Unpredictable’ saw life imitate art. Next month Jamie will headline the famed Detroit Motown Music Festival, appearing alongside the Four Tops, the Supremes and Martha Reeves. He is also about to embark on a national tour and co-host the Oscars in March.

'Unpredictable' is released on J Records through the RCA Label Group on 10th April with the album of the same name to follow on 24th April 2006.
