Jamie Dornan and David Alexander release their feverishly anticipated single “My Burning Sun” on May 29th.
Jamie Dornan (24) and David Alexander (22) aka Sons of Jim unleash their outstanding new single “My Burning Sun” on May 29th, 2006 through Doorstep Records. With their contemporary folk-tinged rock sound, Sons of Jim look set to make their mark on the British music scene.
As well as being a talented musician, Jamie Dornan is a very successful model. He recently shot the new Calvin Klein campaign opposite Kate Moss and is the face of Dior L’Homme. He is also a talented actor and makes his big screen debut in Sofia Coppola’s new movie, 'Marie-Antoinette', starring Kirsten Dunst.
Sons of Jim was born as result of two school friends sharing a passion for music. Jamie says, “It wasn’t a conscious decision it was an organic progress, we were friends and it developed naturally.” The Belfast duo continued to write songs whilst at University in the North of England and it was not long before Jamie and David decided to turn their love for music into a professional career.
Sons of Jim soon came to the attention of renowned producer Brian Higgins (Texas) who invited Jamie and David to lay down some tracks at his Xenomania Studios in Kent. Over the next months, the boys collaborated with some fantastic writers and producers such as Tim Kellett (Simply Red) and Cliff Jones (Gay Dad).
Sons of Jim co-wrote “My Burning Sun” with Ali Thomson in December 2005. Fed up with dark gloomy winter days and smothering feelings of isolation and frustration they wanted to write an uplifting track. “My Burning Sun” acknowledges the way a particular person can reach you and transform your outlook, making life brighter.
They started performing at a number of prominent acoustic venues around London such as The Bedford and The Cobden Club and in February 2005 they found themselves supporting KT Tunstall on tour.
With summer just around the corner, Sons of Jim are sure to make an impact when they release their outstanding new single “My Burning Sun” on May 29th – It’s going to be a scorcher…..
