Ben Taylor

'The Ben Taylor EP'

Released Sep 18th on Independiente

Described by critics as "showing a talent that is undeniable and winning", Ben Taylor does exactly that. Offering sharp melodies, immaculate acoustics and meaningful lyrics, this dynamic singer/songwriter demands attention with his self-titled EP, September 18th, and his impressive forthcoming album 'Another Run Around The Sun', released October 16th.

Fresh from touring Europe with Tracy Chapman, 'The Ben Taylor EP' is the perfect introduction to this vibrant new artist and features three striking songs about life, loss and intimate relationships. All written by Ben, they include the fragility of 'Nothing I Can Do' (about his mother), the relentless strum of 'Lady Magic' and the deftly personal 'Digest.'

The EP also includes a soulful, stripped-down interpretation of Macy Gray's 'I Try'. "There are some songs that really sink in and people know them, but then you break them down and present them in a simple acoustic context and it becomes totally different," he says. "You don't have to compete with the original - it's more a tip of the hat."

The son of James Taylor and Carly Simon, he began performing live 5 years ago and has already toured to critical acclaim. Influenced by a variety of artists such as Paul McCartney, Donovan and Cat Stevens, his sound blends stark originality with ambling folk, rock and soul.

Prior to the release of his forthcoming LP 'Another Run Around The Sun' on October 16th, his UK dates are:
