The Boland Show

NEW PRIMETIME CELEBRITY CHAT SHOW HOSTED BY
MAURICE BOLAND LAUNCHES WITH STAR GUESTS

TV and Radio star Maurice Boland has launched a brand new celebrity chat show on Sky. ‘The Boland Show’ is a mix of celebrity guests, extraordinary stories and live music.  Launch celebrity guests include George Galloway, Ned Sherrin, Dame Cleo Laine, Lesley Joseph, Linda Lusardi and Uri Geller

George Galloway MP, in a rare TV chat show interview, revealed his previous career as a boxer, the inside story of the Big Brother House and how he recognizes he is ‘public enemy number one’ in three countries. George even joined the show’s resident band for a rendition of ‘Hey, Mr Tambourine Man.”

Extraordinary people in the studio included the blind skier whose tremendous skill made headlines recently and the mother and daughter team who spent 105 days at sea together rowing across the Atlantic. Their feat was all the more remarkable as, due to family conflict, they hadn’t spoken for the previous 10 years.

Launch guests included (pictured above left to right) Ned Sherrin CBE, Sir John Dankworth, Dame Cleo Laine, disabled mountaineer Norman Croucher OBE, world memory champion Dominic O’ Brien, David and Carrie Grant (Maurice) and Annabel Croft. In the second picture resident pianist James Philip with Uri Geller, Dora Bryan OBE, Maurice, Linda Lusardi, Olympic swimmer Marc Woods, Liz Smith and fund-raising grandmother Beryl Griffiths.

The hour-long programme will transmit every Saturday night at 10pm on the brand new Lifestyle channel on Sky – launching on screen on Saturday 2nd September 2006. The programme, produced by Rapid Broadcast, is now recording at studios in Wembley, London. The series is commissioned for a 22 week run.
