Life: Season 1

Quirky, intelligent, thought provoking, thrilling…Just a few of the buzzwords that have surrounded one of NBC’s most successful and acclaimed new crime dramas – Life. Premiering to more than 10 million viewers and rave reviews, Life has recently made its UK debut on ITV3, where it has received glowing praise for being a wholly original take on crime drama; more akin to House than CSI. Life will be released on DVD courtesy of Universal Playback on 2 February 2009.

Life follows Detective Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis – Band Of Brothers, The Forsythe Saga), who in 2007 was released from prison after serving 12 years of a life sentence for a murder he never committed. Having lost his job, his wife, his friends and his contact with the outside world and reality, he emerges with an enthusiasm for Zen Buddhism, a passion for fresh fruit and an obsession with solving the murder and conspiracy that nearly cost him his life and freedom.

Partnered with Dani Reese (Sarah Shahi – Rush Hour 3, The L-Word) a narcotics agent who has fallen from grace, Crews must face the day to day challenges of being a cop and an ex-con, all while trying to unravel the conspiracy behind his incarceration; struggling between his commitment to Zen teachings and his overwhelming desire for revenge.
