WATCHMEN first appeared as a comic book series beginning in September of 1986 and running through October of 1987 with a total of 12 issues.  Written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons, the series would later be published as a graphic novel and earn a reputation as a ground-breaking contribution to the genre. Now the universally acclaimed and loved graphic novel comes to life for the first time ever on DVD.

Steeped in its own mythology and bathed in symbolism, the heroes of WATCHMEN for the most part eschew the super powers of traditional comic book characters.  Grappling instead with ethical and personal problems, these heroes broke the conventional comic book model.  It was this innovative style that earned WATCHMEN an unprecedented Hugo Award for its novel format, and secured a spot on Time Magazine’s 2005 list of the 100 Best English Language novels from 1923 to 2005.
