The Chain of Hope Annual Ball

UPFRONT secured the celebrity guests for the Chain of Hope Annual Ball on Monday 4th February 2008, 7.30pm-1am, at The Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London, W1K 1QA.

The Annual Ball celebrated its 5th Year on 4th February 2008, hosted by Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, world renowned heart surgeon and President of Chain of Hope Together with Omar Sharif, Vice President of Chain of Hope.  Chain of Hope mobilises volunteer teams from Great Ormond Street, Guys and St Thomas’, Royal Brompton Hospital and many other cardiac hospitals in the UK to go and operate on children suffering from life-threatening heart disease in such countries as Mozambique, Jamaica, Ethiopia, Kenya and Egypt.

Previous guests have included Sir Michael and Lady Shakira Caine, Sienna Miller, Jude Law, Richard E Grant, Rupert Everett, and fashion designer Matthew Williamson.  The auction in 2006 was conducted by Lord Harry Dalmeny, chair of Sotheby’s Olympia and the evening raised over £300,000 to go directly towards life-saving treatment for children suffering from heart-disease in developing countries.  Previous auction prizes have included dance lessons with Richard Gere, tea with Sienna Miller and premiere tickets from Jude Law.

Celebrity guests included: Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Naomie Harris, Gloria Hunniford, Cherie Lunghi, Steven Berkoff, Michael Buerk, Stephen Tompkinson, Omid Djalili, Konnie Huq, Chloe Delevigne.
