London's leading celebrity booking agency UPFRONT produced a sparkling Bonfire night celebrity guest list as the stars came out in force at the glitzy Ballroom of the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel to support Samsung's inaugural fundraising gala dinner in aid of breast cancer charities across Europe.
A select VIP audience of guests from more than 15 countries enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a lavish haute cuisine sit down dinner and exclusive live performances by singer
Kelly Rowland of the internationally revered group Destiny's Child and platinum selling artist
Beverley Knight.
Beverley brandished a pink Samsung phone, sales of which have raised £200,000. Recently awarded an MBE for services to music and charity and a regular performer at 'Pink' events, she commented: "Breast cancer affects the women involved but also husbands, fathers, siblings, indeed all relatives and friends. The work that breast cancer charities do to raise awareness is vital and I am a keen supporter of these initiatives."
The prestigious high end event was hosted by film actress
Amanda Donohoe ("Castaway" and "LA Law") and superbly orchestrated by expert event planning agency
GSP with a range of fundraising activities taking place throughout the Evening, including "Ribbon of Life", Silent Auction, Pledge Request and a "Diamond in a Glass" raffle.
President & CEO of Samsung Electronics Europe In Soo Kim presented a cheque for $3,000,000 USD to the European Breast Cancer Charities and was photographed on stage with representatives from Europe.
"As a brand, we touch millions of people who choose and interact with our products, giving us the advantage of an instantly recognisable presence worldwide," said Mr Kim, adding "We strive to use our profile to help raise awareness and provide continued long-term support for breast cancer charities."
Breast cancer charities across Europe face a constant battle to increase awareness and raise sufficient funding. This initiative from Samsung provides vital financial support for breast cancer research, campaigning and education work. Samsung works closely with local breast cancer charities and on a European level with Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R), the largest breast cancer advocacy organisation in the world (view www.komen.org for further information)
