On November 2nd 2009, a high profile nightclub opened within Les Ambassadeurs Club, named The Red Room. The opening night of The Red Room was a celebrity and VIP party supporting The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund.
Les Ambassadeurs Club located in London’s Mayfair within a magnificent Grade 1 listed building on Park Lane, with its main entrance in Hamilton Place, has been the home to numerous British Nobles and aristocrats, including Leopold de Rothschild. It was in this historic building that King George IV had a liaison with Lady Conyngham, who occupied 5 Hamilton Place at the time with her husband the 1st Marquis Conyngham.
In its more recent history Les Ambassadeurs Club has featured in the Beatles ‘Hard Day’s Night’, with John Lennon conducting one of his few interviews with the BBC at the club.
In the iconic ‘Dr No’ Sean Connery uttered for the first time the now legendary line “The name’s Bond, James Bond” in a film studio recreation of Les Ambassadeurs Club.
The VIP guests on the evening were: Gary Lineker, Danielle Lineker, Brian Friedman, Camilla Rutherford, Caroline Feraday, Catherine McQueen, Duncan Bannatyne OBE, Harriet Scott, Jon Culshaw, Lucy Benjamin, Lynda Bellingham, Michael Obiora, Olivia Grant, Raef Bjayou, Dexter Fletcher, Jodie Prenger, Marie Helvin, Meredith Ostrom and Patricia Hodge.
