‘The Snowman’ Gala Performance 2006

Upfront secured celebrity guests and their families to attend the star studded gala performance of ‘The Snowman’ at The Peacock Theatre on Saturday 9th December. These  included Andy Serkis, Lawrence Dallaglio, Tamara Beckwith, Camilla Rutherford, David Seaman, Keeley Hawes and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.  

Performed by the Birmingham Repertory Theatre’, the stage version of Raymond Briggs’ much-loved book continued to delight as it returned to the Peacock Theatre this Christmas for the ninth consecutive year.

Sparkling with charm and wit, ‘The Snowman’ tells the magical story of a young boy’s adventures when his snowman comes miraculously to life on Christmas Eve. As the two set off on a night-time quest for adventure, they meet a dazzling array of colourful characters including dancing penguins, magical reindeer and of course, Father Christmas himself.

The celebrity guests and their families enjoyed a pre-party with festive drinks and canapés. The children had a chance to meet ‘The Snowman’ himself and were lucky enough to take home an extra special goody bag.

Suitable for children aged two and upwards, ‘The Snowman’ is a captivating mix of dance, stagecraft and music that includes the enchanting Walking in the Air. Featuring a live orchestra, it is the perfect introduction to dance for the very young and runs until Sunday 7 January 2007.
