Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington has signed up for a new West End production of Doctor Faustus at the Duke of York's Theatre from April 9.

 

ABC has reportedly picked up two new comedy pilots. Chunk & Bean focuses on the childhoods of writers Ed Herro and Brian Donovan – an unlikely friendship of two misfits with two very different sets of parents living next door to each other; and Square Roots focuses on a man from a family of engineers who uses his "gift" to help people with everyday issues.  

 

Woody Allen’s new six part series set in the 1960s, of which he will star in and direct, has added Miley Cyrus to its cast.

 

Gary Barlow has curated the soundtrack for Matthew Vaughn's upcoming new movie Eddie the Eagle. The film stars Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton who have also recorded a duet for the soundtrack which features original tracks performed by icons from the '80s including Tony Hadley and Holly Johnson.

 

Straight Outta Compton and Walking Dead star Corey Hawkins has reportedly been tapped to replace Kiefer Sutherland as the lead in Fox's reboot 24: Legacy, as military hero Eric Carter, marked for death by dangerous enemies.

The Martian actor Benedict Wong has reportedly been cast as Wong, the trusty sidekick to doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in Marvel’s Doctor Strange.


To mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death later this year, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and Joseph Fiennes will star in BBC Two’s Shakespeare Live! from the RSC, as part of the BBC's Shakespeare Festival 2016.


Emma Bunton and Vicky Pattison are set to appear in the second series of Murder in Successville on BBC Three this spring, alongside Chris Kamara, Mark Wright and George Shelley. 


It looks like the Terminator franchise isn't returning after the sequel to Genisys has been pulled from Paramount Pictures’ release schedule for May 2017.


Daniel Bedingfield has joined the cast of the upcoming West End run of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds from February, alongside Jimmy Nail and Heidi Range.

Charlie Brooker's dark drama Black Mirror has begun filming its third series. Each episode has unique characters and plot points focusing on the unintended consequences of modern technology, with Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis starring in the first episode. 


Steve Coogan and John C Reilly are to play comedy double act Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in Jon S Baird's upcoming project Stan & Ollie.


The Eagles' singer-guitarist and founding member Glenn Frey has sadly passed away at the age of 67  after suffering on-and-off from intestinal ailments for the past several months.


The ten Formula 1 races are confirmed to be shown live on Channel 4 without adverts this season. David Coulthard is the first confirmed name for the coverage; the full presenting and commentary team is yet to be announced.


Angela Griffin and Don Gilet have been cast in ITV's six part series Brief Encounters. Set in the early 1980s, the drama revolves around four women striving to change their lives through the sales of lingerie at the height of Thatcherism.

David Bowie’s new album Blackstar has become his first to reach number 1 in the US.


A new trailer has been released for Season 2 of Breaking Bad spinoff show Better Call Saul, which comes back to Netflix on Feb 15:  

 


Baz Luhrman’s new TV series The Get Down will be released on Netflix on August 12.

Will and Grace’s Debra Messing has been cast in ABC's Dirty Dancing remake as Baby’s Mum, alongside Abigail Breslin as Baby.


Ryan Murphy's upcoming series The People vs OJ Simpson: American Crime Story, which looks behind the scenes at the trial of OJ Simpson, will air on BBC Two in the UK. Cuba Gooding Jr stars as football great OJ Simpson, who was accused of killing his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994, alongside John Travolta and David Schwimmer.

The classic late 90s/early 2000s entertainment show Robot Wars is returning to BBC Two with six brand new episodes.


The Brit Awards have confirmed that Little Mix, James Bay, Jess Glynne and The Weeknd will all perform at the ceremony next month alongside the already announced Adele, Coldplay and Justin Bieber.


Vampire Diaries actress Kat Graham will reportedly to play Jada Pinkett Smith in the upcoming Tupac Shakur movie All Eyez on Me. She was a friend and classmate of Tupac's at the Baltimore School for the Arts before he was killed in 1996.


After passing away on January 10, 13 albums and 9 singles by David Bowie have entered the UK Charts. 


Adele has broken the record for the most weeks at number 1 on the albums chart for a female act ever, across all her releases. Her three albums have totalled 31 weeks at the tops, taking over Madonna’s 30 weeks with 12 albums.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘The Revenant’ took the spotlight at the Golden Globes last night, with the film winning Best Director, Best Picture - Drama and Best Actor - Drama.


After winning a Golden Globe for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel, Lady Gaga has confirmed she will release a new album this year.
