The Nutcracker: English National Ballet

UPFRONT secured celebrity guests to attend a VIP Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at St Martin’s Lane Hotel and a performance of The Nutcracker on Thursday 12th December to celebrate the opening of English National Ballet’s Christmas season at the London Coliseum. Guests included Jerry Hall, Thandie Newton, Justin Hawkins from ‘The Darkness’, Natasha Kaplinksy, Dame Kelly Holmes and Harry Enfield.

At the mad Hatters Tea Party, the celebrities and their families enjoyed Alice in Wonderland cocktails and canapés for the adults and special Nutcracker snacks for the kids too. They also had the chance to meet characters from English National Ballet’s productions of Alice in Wonderland and The Nutcracker and collected a goody bag full of Christmas treats!

Following this, the guests moved next door to the Coliseum for the show itself. This production of The Nutcracker is choreographed by Christopher Hampson, recipient of the TMA Barclay’s award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance. Fantastically original costumes and set designs come from the talented and creative mind of celebrated caricaturist, Gerald Scarfe.
