Tuesday 15th June 2010, Damian Lewis, Rupert Graves, Helen Worth, Charlotte Riley, Florence Welch, Jo Wood, Alfie Allen, Tom Chambers, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Hallinan, Little Boots (Victoria Hesketh) Beverley Knight, Henry Holland, Douglas Booth, joined English National Ballet and The Dorchester for an evening of magic and romance.
Guests then hopped onto a London Routemaster Bus to the Royal Albert Hall where they saw one of the world’s greatest ballet shows, Swan Lake in-the-round starring Polina Semionova and Vadim Muntagirov. English National Ballet was delighted to be performing this classic production in its 60th Anniversary year.
Set to Tchaikovsky’s classic score, played by an orchestra of more than 80 musicians, this magnificent production features acrobats, jugglers and 60 swans gliding across the arena within the magical splendour of the Royal Albert Hall. The dramatic narrative of Prince Siegfried’s fight for the love of the queen of the swans, Odette is told through sumptuous costume designs and choreography that uses the space to great effect.
